I’m sure most of us are familiar with the great classic Gone With The Wind, a novel about the aftermath of the Civil War in America, the freeing of African slaves, the devastation of the O’Hara estate due to the war, and the love story of Scarlett and Rhett Butler.

In the film adaptation of Mitchell’s novel, Scarlett O’Hara was portrayed by the beautiful Vivien Leigh. My AI photo here represents the character of Scarlett if it was a play that we, Drama students of Comparative Literature at the University of the Philippines (UP), were presenting as a class project.

The novel has a sequence… did you know? It’s called Scarlett, written by Alexandra Ripley. Whereas the setting of Gone With The Wind is Georgia, Scarlett is set in Ireland, the home of Scarlett’s late father Gerald O’Hara.
